Domogled National Park

DOMOGLED NATIONAL PARK, ROMANIA – OCTOBER 2012: The National Park in the southern Carpathians shelters a large variety of flora and fauna, including bears, lynx and wolfes. The park hosts large virgin forest areas, mainly European beech and some stands of the endemic Banat black pine (pinus nigra banaticus). Unfortunately there has been heavy logging in all valleys. Large ancoent woodlands have been destroyed in the recent years. Logging still goes on. The National Park’s nature zone is small then 50% pf the parks surface and does not meet the criteria of IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature).
