Logging of old growth beech forest in Romania

Boia Mica valley, Fagaras Natura 2000 site (SCI), Romania – March 2017: Recent logging at the gate to the pathless wilderness of Boia Mica valley. The valley in the southern Carpathians hosts about 1000 ha of primary beech and spruce forest as well as several mixed forests types. The forest belongs to communities, who want to build roads and start logging.
